Hello there, true believers!
Whether you are stumbling across us for the first time, or you've encountered us one way or another in our 12-year journey (I am young and spry and no amount of time passing will change that), we want to welcome you to the landing spot for the nerdiest group of performers under the sun: Cape Swoosh Productions!
So...um...what even is a Cape Swoosh?
Cape Swoosh is a production company that brings the epic version of a comic that you hear in your head when you're reading to life. We fully adapt beloved stories into fully cast and adapted works with amazing talents, exciting sounds, and SO much love and care. This was a labor of love that two high school best friends started on the airwaves of Montclair Underground Radio, 90.3 WMSC FM, beginning with an adaptation of The Killing Joke and continuing with a ton of adapted epics, live performances, and the development of a dedicated community of performers that love the challenge of breathing life into superheroes, with all the nuances and melodrama of their stories intact.
Cape Swoosh Productions has existed, in one way or another, since 2013, and we've taken a few different shapes in that time, from a radio show, to a podcast, to a producing partner for many talented actors, and we've had the incredible blessing to see many of the actors we've partnered with take their careers to amazing new heights. Now, it's our turn!
We want to offer our talents to new audiences, to grow our platform, and to spread the love and joy of comics that we have felt ever since day one. There have been bumps in the road, and some time to develop skills and careers, but now more than ever, we are ready to bring something new and exciting to a whole new audience.
So get ready for live performances that are going to rock your socks off, new productions that will engross and excite you, podcast episodes where you'll get to know our team and our passions, and a whole lot of shenanigans and tomfoolery to go with it. Don't call it a come back: we've been here the whole time!
Ready or not, world...here we come!
